welcome to First Hill

Nestled right in between Capitol Hill and Downtown Seattle, First Hill is known for having lots of hospitals and medical facilities and a decidedly urban atmosphere. There has also been an effort by the city to increase the amount of green spaces in First Hill with micro parks throughout the neighborhood, and of course, First Hill is also home to the unique Freeway Park. You’ll also find other popular Seattle destinations here, including Seattle’s Town Hall, Hotel Sorrento, and the Frye Art Museum.

“Great little oasis that is quieter than the surrounding downtown and Capitol Hill.” - Brandon L.

EXCELLENT DINING

There are many convenient eateries in the First Hill neighborhood, and First Hill is bordered by destination dining in both Capitol Hill and the Central District (depending where you decided to draw those neighborhood lines!). Along Pike Street you’ll find coffee shops like Victrola Coffee and Starbucks Reserve Roastery, and locals we surveyed love being so close to Taylor Shellfish, Mamnoon, Machiavelli, and more.

FREEWAY PARK

Freeway Park is built over Interstate-5, and it’s name might not make it sound particularly appealing. However, this 5.2-acre park presents a striking juxtaposition of lush greenery and brutalist architecture. A tranquil fountain, plenty of benches, and artistic views await at every turn.
